The Israel-Israel Chamber of Commerce and the Israeli Embassy organized the event on 24 June to commemorate the 71st Anniversary of the Independence of the State of Israel, which brought together officials, senior dignitaries, members of the Diplomatic Corps, the Jewish Community, businessmen , associates of the Chamber of Commerce and many friends of Israel. During the event, Ambassador Raphael Gamzou awarded Representative João Rebelo with a Certificate of Merit and Recognition from the Israeli Knesset for the work he has done as President of the Parliamentary Friendship Group to deepen and strengthen bilateral relations and friendship between the two countries. There was also a musical moment for the Yamma Ensemble, who performed some Israeli songs and also performed the Portuguese song “Amar por Dois”, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017.
